Our Casting Roll Form Splints deliver a versatile, efficient, and clinically proven solution for constructing high-quality orthopedic splints in medical facilities, urgent care centers, emergency departments, and clinical practices. Engineered with advanced materials and intelligent design features, these professional-grade splints streamline the application process while ensuring exceptional patient comfort, superior structural integrity, and optimal healing outcomes.
Designed with minimal water activation technology, these splints require only a small amount of cool water (65-75°F) to activate the polyurethane coating, dramatically simplifying and accelerating the application process. The innovative no wrong side application design eliminates orientation concerns, allowing healthcare professionals to apply the splint confidently without worrying about which side faces the patient. This intuitive design reduces application time, minimizes errors, and enhances workflow efficiency in high-volume clinical settings.
Featuring double-sided stretchable polypropylene padding, these splints provide exceptional patient comfort while conforming naturally to anatomical contours. The air and moisture-permeable padding promotes healthy skin conditions beneath the splint, reducing the risk of maceration and irritation during extended wear periods. The padding can be easily opened and adjusted to achieve a perfect custom fit for each patient's unique anatomy, ensuring optimal immobilization and support throughout the healing process.
Constructed with seven layers of premium fiberglass featuring center stitching technology, these splints deliver maximum lamination strength and exceptional structural durability. The multi-layer polyurethane-coated fiberglass construction creates a lightweight yet remarkably strong splint that maintains its integrity under stress while remaining radiolucent for clear X-ray imaging. When activated by moisture, the polyurethane undergoes a controlled mild exothermic reaction, hardening to create a rigid, supportive structure that effectively immobilizes fractures, sprains, and post-surgical sites.
The integrated resealable clip system preserves unused product between applications, significantly reducing material waste and lowering per-patient costs. Simply push the inner splint material back into the protective foil, apply the resealing clip to create an airtight seal, and store the remaining material for future use. This innovative preservation system maintains product integrity, extends shelf life, and ensures consistent performance across multiple patients.
Latex-free construction ensures safe use for patients with latex allergies or sensitivities, as the splint is not made with natural rubber latex. This universal compatibility makes these splints suitable for diverse patient populations without risk of allergic reactions or adverse skin responses.
1. Site Preparation: Follow standard clinical protocols for wound management, fracture reduction, post-surgical care, and patient assessment.
2. Measurement and Cutting: Measure the patient for required splint length, pull the estimated length from the dispenser, and cut cleanly.
3. Product Preservation: Seal remaining material using the resealable clip system—push inner material into protective foil, apply clip smoothly, and press firmly to create airtight seal.
4. Preparation: Remove cut splint from protective foil and discard foil. Pull polypropylene padding beyond exposed fiberglass edges at both ends.
5. Activation: Apply a 1-inch bead of cool water (65-75°F) to the center of the splint. Work water throughout by folding and squeezing—avoid wringing or twisting motions.
6. Moisture Removal: Roll damp splint in a clean towel and squeeze to remove excess water. Repeat until padding is virtually dry.
7. Application and Molding: Smooth splint and position on patient. Wrap with elastic bandage and carefully mold to limb contours for 2-4 minutes.
8. Setting and Monitoring: Allow initial set (3-5 minutes). Splint gains full strength over 20 minutes. Monitor patient per standard protocols.
Intended for professional use in constructing common orthopedic splints for fracture immobilization, sprain support, post-surgical stabilization, and soft tissue injury management. Must be applied under the supervision and guidance of qualified medical professionals including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, orthopedic technicians, and emergency medical personnel.
Manufactured to rigorous medical device standards, these casting roll form splints undergo comprehensive quality control testing to ensure consistent performance, reliable activation, and predictable setting characteristics. Each roll is packaged in protective foil to maintain product integrity until use.
