  A hydrocolloid dressing should be changed every three to seven days. If the bandage begins to come up along the edge, it is time to replace it with a fresh dressing.

  Am I suppose to use ointment with these wound dressings?

  Because the hydrocolloid dressing creates a moist, healing environment it is not necessary to use ointment or cream before covering the wound.
