Clinical Indications

This barrier film wipe is clinically indicated for use with shallow and deep wounds presenting moderate to heavy drainage volumes. It serves as an effective primary barrier against irritation caused by contact with body fluids, making it ideal for incontinence management, ostomy care, wound periwound protection, and prevention of medical adhesive-related skin injury (MARSI).

Application Instructions

Preparation: Ensure skin is thoroughly clean and completely dry before applying the barrier film. Remove the wipe or applicator from the sterile sachet immediately before use.

Application: Apply a uniform, even coating of the barrier film over the entire area requiring protection. If any area is inadvertently missed during initial application, wait for the first application to dry completely (approximately 30 seconds) before reapplying to the missed area only.

Skin Fold Management: When applying to areas with skin folds or skin-to-skin contact zones, ensure contact surfaces are gently separated and held apart until the film thoroughly dries before allowing skin to return to its normal position.

Use Under Adhesives: When using beneath adhesive tapes, dressings, or medical devices, allow the barrier film to dry thoroughly before applying any adhesive products. Important: Reapplication of the barrier film is necessary each time dressings or adhesive products are changed, as the barrier film layer is removed along with the adhesive.

Important Precautions

Discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention if redness, irritation, or other adverse skin reactions develop or persist. Contraindications & Warnings

This barrier film should not be used as the sole protective covering in clinical situations requiring dressing protection against bacterial contamination or penetration, including intravenous therapy catheter sites, full-thickness or partial-thickness wounds, or infected skin areas. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if package seal is broken, damaged, or previously opened.
